Green Dade Outdoor Fitment Guide

Toro TimeCutter 50" Deck Rebuild Kit Guide – SS, MX, SW & Z-Series

Toro TimeCutter 50-inch mowers can use different spindle, belt and pulley configurations depending on the mower series and deck generation. A 50-inch cutting width alone is not enough to identify the correct rebuild kit.

This guide compares Green Dade 80-DK-022, 80-DK-023, 80-DK-024, 80-DK-025 and 80-DK-025-A and separates them into the two main deck families represented by these kits: the SS / MX / SW platform and the older Z-Series platform.

Important: Do not order solely because your mower says Toro TimeCutter 50". The SS/MX/SW kits and Z-Series kits use different spindle families and different belt configurations.

Two Main Toro TimeCutter 50" Deck Families

SS / MX / SW Platform

Uses three 80-12-033-N spindle assemblies and the 80-90-959 deck belt.

Green Dade kits: 80-DK-022, 023 and 024.

Z-Series Platform

Uses three 80-12-039 spindle assemblies and requires two different belts.

Green Dade kits: 80-DK-025 and 025-A.

Same Blade Size Does Not Mean Same Deck

Both families can use similar 17-1/2" blade configurations, so blades alone should not be used to determine deck family.

How to Identify the Correct Kit

1
Confirm the mower series. Check whether your mower is an SS, MX, SW or older Z-Series TimeCutter.
2
Find the complete Toro model number. Numbers such as 74630, 74731 or 74376 can be more useful than the marketing model name alone.
3
Compare spindle OEM numbers. The SS/MX/SW platform uses a different spindle family from the Z-Series platform.
4
Check the belt configuration. SS/MX/SW kits use one primary deck belt in this family, while 80-DK-025 and 025-A include two different belts.
5
Choose the repair level you need. Some kits include blades, some include idlers, and the most complete versions include both.

Family 1: Toro TimeCutter SS / MX / SW 50" Deck

80-DK-022 / 80-DK-023 / 80-DK-024

Three related kits for the same basic SS, MX and SW deck platform.

These kits share the same core spindle and belt family. They use three 80-12-033-N spindle assemblies, replacing Toro references including 117-0751, 117-7267, 117-7268, 117-7439, 120-6234 and 121-9107.

The deck belt is Green Dade 80-90-959, approximately 1/2" × 141.5", replacing Toro 119-8820 / 120-3892.

What changes between 022, 023 and 024 is not the basic platform, but which additional wear components are included.

Important difference: 80-DK-022 and 80-DK-023 are not simply a smaller and larger version of the same kit. The 022 includes idler pulleys but no blades, while the 023 includes blades but no idler pulleys. 80-DK-024 combines both.

Belt Problems

Cracks, glazing, fraying or frequent belt slipping are common reasons to inspect the full drive system.

Idler Noise

What is the difference between 80-DK-023 and 80-DK-024?

What is the difference between 80-DK-025 and 80-DK-025-A?

Both are based on the Z-Series platform and include three spindles, three blades and two belts. 80-DK-025-A additionally includes three flat idler pulleys.

No. Similar blade dimensions can appear across different deck configurations. Use your mower model, spindle OEM numbers and belt references as additional fitment checks.

Does 80-DK-025-A fit Z4200, Z4220 and Z4235 models?

Those models are listed among the compatible applications for 80-DK-025-A. Always verify the complete mower model and original part numbers because deck configurations can vary.

How do I find my Toro model number?

Check the mower identification label and your parts or owner's manual. The complete model number is generally more reliable for parts identification than the TimeCutter marketing name alone.

Still Not Sure Which Toro TimeCutter 50" Kit You Need?

Confirm your mower series and complete model number, then compare the spindle and belt OEM references before ordering.
