Cub Cadet 46" Deck Rebuild Kit Guide – LT1045, LT1046 & LTX1045/LTX1046
Cub Cadet LT1045, LT1046, LTX1045 and LTX1046 model names look very similar,
but their 46-inch mower decks can use completely different blade,
spindle and belt configurations.
This guide compares the LT1045/LT1046 3-blade deck
with the LTX1045/LTX1046 2-blade deck and shows the
differences between Green Dade 80-DK-010, 80-DK-031, 80-KT-002 and 80-DK-013.
Important:
Do not select a rebuild kit based only on “46-inch Cub Cadet.”
The LT1045/LT1046 configuration covered here uses
3 blades and 3 spindles, while the LTX1045/LTX1046
configuration uses 2 blades and 2 spindles.

LT1045 / LT1046
Uses three blades: one shorter blade and two longer blades,
together with three spindle assemblies.
LTX1045 / LTX1046
Uses a different two-blade and two-spindle platform with different
blade, spindle and belt OEM references.
Similar Name, Different Deck
LT1046 and LTX1046 sound almost identical, but their deck components
should not be treated as interchangeable.
How to Identify the Correct Deck

Confirm the full mower model.
Determine whether the mower is LT1045, LT1046, LTX1045,
LTX1046, LTX1046M or LTX1046VT.

Count the blades.
The LT configuration covered here has three blades.
The LTX configuration covered here has two.

Compare OEM blade and spindle numbers.
Matching the blade count is helpful, but OEM references provide
a stronger fitment confirmation.

Decide how complete a repair you need.
For the LT platform, Green Dade offers blades only,
blades + spindles, or a more complete deck rebuild package.
Family 1: LT1045 / LT1046 46" 3-Blade Deck
3 Blades + 3 Spindles
Selected Cub Cadet LT1045, LT1046, iT1406 and related 46-inch applications.
One of the easiest ways to recognize this deck is its unusual
three-blade arrangement. It uses
one shorter blade and two longer blades,
all with a special 6-point star center.
The shorter blade replaces the
742-04124 / 942-04124 family.
The two longer blades replace the
742-04125 / 942-04125 family.
Green Dade offers three different repair levels for this platform:
80-KT-002, 80-DK-010
and 80-DK-031.

The important difference:
80-DK-010 and 80-DK-031 use the same basic LT1045/LT1046
blade-and-spindle platform. 80-DK-031 is the more complete package
because it also includes the deck belt and two idler pulleys.

Green Dade 80-DK-013 is not simply another
completeness level of the LT1045/LT1046 kits.
It belongs to a different deck configuration.
It uses two spindle assemblies replacing the
618-04636 / 918-04636 / 918-04865 family,
along with two approximately 23-1/4" blades.
The blades replace references including
742-04290 / 942-04290,
while the belt replaces
754-04219 / 954-04219.
It also includes two idler pulleys in the
756-04129 / 956-04129 family.

Common Signs Your Deck Needs Service
Uneven Cut
Bent blades, worn spindle bearings or excessive spindle play
can contribute to an uneven cut.
Grinding or Bearing Noise
Worn spindle or idler bearings may produce grinding,
rumbling or squealing noises.
Belt Slipping
Inspect the belt, idlers, pulleys and belt routing rather than
automatically replacing only the belt.
Excessive Vibration
Damaged blades, worn spindles and pulley problems can all
contribute to deck vibration.
Damaged Blades
Replace blades that are bent, cracked, heavily worn or unable
to maintain a proper cutting edge.
Multiple Worn Components
If several parts are worn at the same time, a rebuild kit may
be more practical than purchasing components individually.
