Craftsman LT1000 & LT2000 42" Deck Rebuild Kits & Parts Guide
Craftsman LT1000 and LT2000 lawn tractors were produced with more than one 42-inch mower deck configuration. The mower name alone is therefore not enough to select a rebuild kit. Spindle mounting pattern, belt length, OEM numbers, deck manufacturer and the parts already installed on your mower should all be checked before ordering.
This guide explains the main differences between Green Dade Outdoor rebuild-kit configurations and helps you understand why several kits can share the same spindles, blades and pulleys while using different belts or additional idler pulleys.
Important:
Do not order a deck rebuild kit only because the mower says
LT1000 or LT2000.
Craftsman used different deck platforms and component combinations.
Always verify your mower model number, spindle mounting pattern and OEM
references.
Why LT1000 and LT2000 Fitment Can Be Confusing
The LT1000 and LT2000 names cover many Craftsman lawn tractors produced over multiple years. Some use AYP-style deck components also found on Husqvarna and Poulan equipment, while other Craftsman models use MTD-style deck hardware.
That means two tractors with a similar Craftsman model name may use completely different spindles, belts, pulleys and blades.
AYP-Style 3-Bolt Spindle
Many LT1000/LTX1000 applications in this guide use the 130794 / 532130794 spindle family with a 3-bolt mounting pattern.
Different Belts, Similar Hardware
A mower can use the same spindle, blade and spindle-pulley family while requiring a different deck belt. Belt selection can therefore change the final fitment of the rebuild configuration.
MTD-Style LT2000 Applications
Some Craftsman LT2000 applications use MTD-style parts and 4-bolt spindles. These are not the same rebuild configuration as the 130794 3-bolt AYP-style kits.
Before You Buy: Identify Your Deck First

Find the full mower model number.
Craftsman model numbers often begin with numbers such as 917 or 247.
Use the complete number whenever possible, not only LT1000 or LT2000.

Check the spindle mounting pattern.
The Green Dade 80-DK-001, 80-DK-002 and 80-DK-000 family uses the
130794-style 3-bolt spindle. The 80-DK-011 uses a different
MTD/Cub Cadet-style 4-bolt spindle.

Identify the deck belt or its OEM number.
This is especially important because the same basic spindle/blade
configuration can be paired with different belts.

Check whether your idler pulleys also need replacement.
Some Green Dade kits include the spindle-related components only,
while more complete configurations add the belt and/or idler pulleys.
Understanding Green Dade 80-DK-001, 80-DK-002 and 80-DK-000
These three products share much of the same basic 42-inch AYP-style deck hardware, but they should not be understood simply as three unrelated fitment choices. Their main differences are the included belt and the level of pulley replacement.
The key idea:
first confirm that the spindle, blade and spindle-pulley family matches
your deck. Then confirm the correct belt. Finally decide whether the
idler pulleys also need to be replaced.

Why 80-DK-001 Can Fit More Applications When Paired With the Correct Belt
One advantage of 80-DK-001 is that it does not force a specific deck belt into the package. Its spindle, blade and spindle-pulley components can be used on compatible deck configurations while the correct belt is selected separately.
For example, Green Dade lists the 80-90-355 belt as an option for the Poulan HD145H42F when used with the 80-DK-001 hardware. The 80-90-355 replaces OEM numbers including 144200, 532144200, 419271 and 532419271 and measures approximately 1/2" × 88".
By contrast, 80-DK-002 includes Green Dade belt 80-90-333, which belongs to the 144959 / 532144959 family and is approximately 1/2" × 95-1/2".
Do not substitute belts based only on mower name.
An 88-inch 144200-family belt and a 95-1/2-inch 144959-family belt are not
interchangeable merely because both may appear in Craftsman/AYP 42-inch
applications. Match the belt to the specific mower/deck configuration.
Common 80-90-355 Belt Applications
Green Dade lists the 80-90-355 belt for selected AYP, Roper, Sears, Craftsman and Husqvarna applications, including several models that share the same general AYP-style deck architecture.

What About Craftsman LT2000 Models With MTD-Style Decks?
Not every Craftsman LT2000 belongs to the 130794 AYP-style 3-bolt family. Green Dade product 80-DK-011, for example, covers selected Craftsman LT2000, LT1500 and T130 applications that use MTD/Cub Cadet-style components.
That configuration uses a 4-bolt spindle, different blade references, a different belt family and different idler pulleys. It should therefore be treated as a separate deck platform rather than as another completeness level of 80-DK-001/002/000.

Common Symptoms That May Point to Worn Deck Components
Uneven Cutting
Worn spindle bearings, damaged blades or deck components with excessive play can contribute to an uneven cut.
Excessive Vibration
Bent blades, worn spindles, damaged pulleys or incorrect belt routing can cause abnormal vibration.
Belt Slipping or Coming Off
A worn belt, damaged pulley, incorrect belt length or alignment issue can cause repeated belt problems.
Grinding or Bearing Noise
Rough or noisy spindle bearings can indicate that a spindle assembly is approaching the end of its service life.
Loose or Wobbling Pulleys
Pulley wear or spindle damage can create movement that affects belt tracking and deck performance.
Multiple Worn Parts at Once
If several components are already worn, a rebuild kit can be more practical than replacing each part separately.
Which Green Dade Configuration Should I Choose?
